My brain is empty!

Thanks, Google.

Thanks, Google.

I’ve been spending most of this week – between running and working and sleeping – playing video games. Dead Space 3 to be exact. Maybe there is plenty to talk about. A few things happened this week that made me laugh, a few that made me angry or upset. My brain was certainly swirling with thoughts and concerns. But nothing has seemed to stick out to me. Nothing seemed worth posting about here. My creative well has dried up for the moment. I’m disappointed in myself. I have an 11 mile run to complete for marathon training today. Maybe I’ll catch that runner’s high and some bright idea will dawn on me!

Anyhow, just stopping in to say hello, and I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. I’m off to try to get some damn ideas stirring again.

xoxo

  1. Have a great run, and enjoty your weekend.
Was Dead Space 3 any good? I just finished Batman Arkham Asylum (great game), and am starting Infamous 2 (first was very clever).

    • Thank you, Guap. 🙂 Dead Space 3 is definitely awesome, but it lacks the “scary” element that the first two had. I rarely find myself jumping while playing this one, while during the first two I was constantly surprised. I’ve never played Arkham Asylum but have heard of its epicness. Never played Infamous either, I’ll have to check it out! I highly recommend all of the Dead Space games. I also have Bioshock Infinite reserved – that comes out next week. Bioshock is one of my favorite games of all time.

      • I thought Bioshock was brilliant, but the end was a bit of a letdown.
The first Infamous was a great interface, good story and really fun weapons and sequenes.
I’m playing Metal Gear 4, and while it’s great, some of the cutscenes are too damn long.
(And I believe this I will use this comment thread as proof of my geek cred.)
(Shall we branch into Star Trek for bonus points?)

      • I agree, the ending could have been better. And this thread is total evidence of your geekiness. Mine, too. If we wanna get REALLY nerdy, I could start talking about the years I spent playing World of Warcraft…

      • Don’t make me break out memories of the Atari 800!!!

      • Bahahaahaha, you and Joe could talk about that! 😉 He loved his Atari but refuses to play any Xbox games with me!

  2. I hope you have a great run. I know how you feel. I should be writing two book reviews but my brain is just fried. I don’t know why. Maybe from falling asleep on the couch last night and then waking up and having to drag the dogs out and THEN going to bed. Not the best rest. I don’t feel very creative. Maybe later. Hope you have a better day. Happy running.

  3. Take that voice recorder with you on your run….never know when inspiration will strike!! Have a good weekend.

  4. Good luck!
And by the way, your brain is far from empty!

  5. Nicole!!!! I got nothing. I just felt like saying…NICOLE!!!!

  6. Possible topic to discuss: Squirrels – Cute or deadly?

  7. Maybe it’s the weather. It’s very blah.

  8. I knew a girl named Nikki, I guess you could say she was a marathon runner. – Prints

  9. Hey Nicole, funny how getting your body moving can get the brain juice squeezing. I walk every day with my daughters and something always comes to me… you know, from nowhere?? Where is that place? Have a great weekend.
