Kill the Darkness – 2013 Resolutions

2013 Resolutions (Leith O'Malley)

2013 Resolutions (Leith O’Malley)

next year i will

make friends with the

mirror in the hall.

living with eyes half closed

is just death while you’re breathing.

next year i will

shake hands with the

monsters in my head.

standing shoulder to shoulder

is the only way to walk the line.

next year i will

pull the thread out

of my heart.

in delicate pieces it is

easier to share.

next year i will

run to kill

the darkness.

there is only sunlight

that drips from this skin.

next year i will

focus

the kaleidoscope.

dreaming in color

doesn’t have to be blurred.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Cheers to 2014. Let’s make it the best one yet.

    “living with eyes half closed
is just death while you’re breathing.”

… And what do we say to death?
    – Not today.

  6. You’re an incredible poet, and a wonderful friend. I want the best for you, and I hope it keeps breaking the record for ‘best’ every moment.

    Happy New Year!

  7. Nicole, let us now practice this mirror thing…consider me the mirror…look deeply, okay, don’t flinch or turn away…here we go…”Hello, magnificent one, loved of your man, gifted with word…stay a while…please…I love you Nicole…” Have an awesome 2014 Lovey, God’s luck in all. REDdog
